UniLang Language Community
The UniLang Language Community offers an on-line place for language learners of all countries to come together, communicate, practise, and find and create free language resources that facilitate the acquisition of foreign languages.
This project got born in October 2000, out of a combination of my very first language project, Languages Made Clear, a similar project of Erik Zidowecki (Abavagada), and some additional ideas of Niels van Bellingen (Silvah). Together we founded UniLang, and I'm currently still involved in its development and administration.
Over the years the project has grown a lot, we even got featured in the BBC World show "ClickOnline" and became a finalist in the Stockholm Challenge, a contest for innovative ICT applications. We have developed quite a wealth of resources and a have a very lively community. Beyond our many language resources, our main components are a forum, a chat, and a voicechat.
We are entirely non-profit and operate in the spirit of free content. At the moment we are in quite a need of new developers with fresh insights. So let me know if you have sufficient skills in PHP, xhtml, css and javascript and are willing to volunteer to help!
For more information on UniLang and on the various systems I developed for UniLang, I refer you to the Developer Documentation.
